The recent 8-week challenge round has ended and there were some amazing results achieved amongst the participants. However, it was the camaraderie that abounded between all groups that made this a tremendous success.
It was decided from the outset that if this was to be a ‘lifestyle’ challenge then the result should focus on the body fat mass loss and the % of body fat lost – not just the reduction of kilograms on the scales. It was an extremely close race and there were many that could have crossed that finish line in the top six quite easily and our congratulations go out to everyone who started and finished this challenge.
The overall winner could not be mistaken – with a massive 14.9kg Body Fat Mass Loss and 10.3% of his body weight disappearing – Mark Kwiatkowski proved that you can lose weight over an 8-week period healthily.
Grand Prize Winner
Mark Kwiatkowski | Pink Team
The men’s runner ups, one through three were all well deserving winners. The difference between one and two positions were minute, except for the fact that #1 gained muscle over the 8 weeks – which is an amazing achievement given that most of the workouts in the challenge are cardio based. The placings were:
Male 1st Runner Up
Kim Kenny | Green Team
Male 2nd Runner Up
Paul Savage | Green Team
Male 3rd Runner Up
Steven Steward | Pink Team
The female who took out the top position did an amazing job losing 10.1kg of Body Fat Mass resulting in 7.9% Body Fat reduction. The 2nd and 3rd positions were a hard fought and extremely close race. It came down to the wire and at this point we had to consider the females who had gained muscle over the 8 weeks and thus 2nd Runner up went to Naomi Nwayco and 3rd was Steph Marcus.
Female 1st Runner Up
Catherine Guntner | Blue Team
Female 2nd Runner Up
Catherine Guntner | Purple Team
Female 3rd Runner Up
Steph Marcus | Purple Team
A trend that was noticed in those who gained muscle during the challenge not only attended most of the challenge workouts but worked outside of these sessions with a personal trainer. PTs can introduce strength workouts under supervision and to push the individual to achieve better results. So please consider using a personal trainer if you are considering the next challenge.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS, and to all participants of this 8-week challenge.
