Jay Burgman, walks into a group fitness class at Blackwood Fitness and everyone is excited to see her! We sat down with Jay to answer a few questions about herself for you to get to know her a little better on her Birthday!
What got you interested in becoming a group fitness instructor?
I had a very inspiring gym teacher who was so much fun and I wanted to be as good as her
How long have you been instructing?
About 11 years. My first permanent class was at Blackwood Fitness
What’s your favourite class to teach and why?
Always loved Body Attack. A great workout, with a little fun!

- Trained in Body Attack, Body Pump, Body Step and Chi Ball.
What else do you do when you’re not leading fitness classes?
I’m Group Fitness Manager at Blackwood Fitness and in my spare time I run around after my girls. I’m a nanny, chauffeur, cleaner, cook, gardener and a bank!!
Advice or tips to get the most out of your classes?
Do what you can do and have fun doing it! There is no right or wrong way as long as you remain safe!
Any other interesting facts about yourself?
I was/am a hairdresser who use to own my own salon for a number of years too!
