Jess Scott, is a talented and loved fitness instructor here at Blackwood Fitness! With over 2 years in the fitness instructing industry Jess is full of passion and this shows in the quality of her group fitness classes. We got Jess to answer a few questions about herself for you to get to know her a little better!
What got you interested in becoming a group fitness instructor?
I love to help people and I love exercise… why not combine the two? I got some mentoring from Lauren and Kirsty and haven’t looked back!
How long have you been instructing?
I have been instructing for a little over 2 years now.
What’s your favourite class to teach and why?
Oh I don’t think I can pick just one! I love all of my classes for different reasons. I love high impact, good music, sweaty workouts. Pump, Attack, HIIT… Anything that is a mental challenge as much as it is physical.
I have a Certificate 3 & 4 in Fitness, certified in Les Mills Body Attack and AIM1 certified in Les Mills Body Pump.
What else do you do when you’re not leading fitness classes?
I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Arts / Primary School Teaching and work in an OSHC. I also like to give myself the chance to participate in classes every other day, not only for a workout but to give me new ideas and see my gym friends!
Advice or tips to get the most out of your classes?
Good things come to those who work hard. Be consistent and persistent. I’ll give you moves, music and motivation but you have to do the moving!
Any other interesting facts about yourself?
Hmm, I’m a crazy cat lady and I’m good at hair braiding!
