Exercise can become a chore and often people can give up because they have pushed themselves too hard.
We have some tips for you to help you make the Gym an easy habit that you love!.
To ensure you stick at your exercise program once the challenge is over, and for those of you who want to create more sustainable gym habits, here’s a few tips to find ways of sticking to your health and fitness goals, making exercise a normal part of your week!
It’s important that the exercise you choose to do elicits a positive response such as enjoyment or contentment. Gaining a positive response usually means we will want to replicate that response again and again. When choosing a class or an approach to exercise, make sure it is something you will get enjoyment out of so you will look to do it again and again.
Time of day and will power.
Make sure you exercise at a time of the day which is less likely to be affected by a lack of will power. For example, if you work in a stressful job, by the end of the day, your willpower to stick to your exercises goals will be less. In which case, a morning workout may be easier to stick at. Avoid going home between finishing work and doing your workout. Once you get home and the warmth of the fire and the couch may win out over the need to head to the gym for some exercise.
Who and where?
Human beings are wired to be in a group. Studies have shown that people who exercise alone are more likely to give up than those who choose to work out with a friend or in a group. Working out with people who have a similar goal usually results in us coming back week after week and also staying for the entire session, rather than giving up after 10 minutes.
Use your time at the gym to meet people, catch up with friends.

Growth and power.
It is important to know that YOU have the power to make a change in your life and stick to it. Aim for GROWTH on a personal and physiological level. Strive for growth on a physical level (getting fitter, stronger and leaner) and you will feel powerful and strong.
I know the only way I could get my kids to regularly do their jobs, eat good food or sit quietly in the car is through bribery. Why not try this on yourself? “If I attend 3 group fitness classes this week, I put $5 in a piggy bank which I can use to buy myself ANYTHING I want”.
