Have you injured yourself in the gym, at work or at home? There are so many ways to get injured and a lot of the time it is because we did something the wrong way. Sometimes this is from lack of knowledge other times it’s from getting a bit slack or not thinking about what we are doing. It’s normally something silly that we end up hurting ourselves with.
One way to injure yourself is picking up and putting down weights incorrectly at the start and finish of a set, this is very common and I see it on a daily basis.
Here we have Demi Pakos showing us the correct way to pick up a weight with her back straight and bending at the knees to use her legs to drive up.
The wrong way is with an arched or bent back and legs straight which can definitely cause injuries to the spine and other areas.
This technique applies to any situation where you are trying to lift something not just in the gym. So at work or at home or any other time use the correct technique.
