What Happens To Your Body at the Beach
Its now heating up for Summer with it warming up to 36 degrees tomorrow its time to slip, slop slap.
I’m really naughty and love sitting in the sun. I’ve just read an article and found out why sun baking is so appealing at the beach:
The sunshine on your skin triggers your brain to release endorphins, natural narcotics that help curb pain and brighten your mood (even when you’re wearing SPF).
The article first appeared in Women’s Health magazine. This is it:
“Relaxing by the ocean is like taking a mental-health holiday, but also sets off a series of fascinating physical effects. In the first minute the sunshine on your skin triggers your brain to release endorphins, natural narcotics that help curb pain and brighten your mood even when you’re wearing SPF.”
Unfortunately, as we all know, tanning the skin is very dangerous and can result in terrible skin cancers. While having a doze in the sun next time you’re at the beach make sure to use sun protection while still getting a bit of vitamin D!
Reading this piece might make you re-think sitting in the sun this Summer.
