Sitting at a desk 5 days a week can take a toll on your body and in particular your back and sciatic nerve pain. The human body isn’t meant to sit for long periods of time every day and this can lead to bigger health issues in the future. To stay on top of it, its best to move your body every day and if you want to get the best results Blackwood Fitness Group Classes are an easy and fun way to do it!
Below are our top classes we recommend for helping back pain:
1. Les Mills BODYATTACK
This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilization exercises to help you strengthen your muscles and also create balance in your body. Available at various times weekly at Blackwood Fitness, it’s easy to find a class to fit into your schedule.
2. Les Mills BODYPUMP
Les Mills BODYPUMP (or as we like to call it ‘Pump’) is a resistance training class using a barbell and adjustable weights. It builds strength and burns fat and that’s why it’s been so popular for so long, it gets results! Each muscle group is worked out individually to pre-choreographed, easy to follow routines. Anyone can do it and if done with correct technique, Pump will help improve your core strength which will help provide strength for your back and promote great posture.
3. Yoga
You can’t go past Yoga for increasing flexibility and reducing stress. Did you know that stress is a major contributor to back pain? When we’re stressed, our muscles tense up in our back and causes pinching, aching and all the nasty kinds of pain you can think of!
Special mention for those with a condition called Fibromyalgia, which increases feelings of tenderness and pain in various areas of the body can be caused by chronic stress. Including yoga in a person’s weekly routine will reduce the physical symptoms of Fibromyalgia by stretching everything out and lessen the mental causes by using the time to relax and be mindful. Improving overall wellbeing for those with the condition.
All Blackwood Fitness Yoga classes are slightly different. This is due to different instructors with different specialties. This is great because every class you come to will work you in a different way.
