Week 3 Laura trained with Personal Trainers Braydon & Alex. Read what Laura had to say after both training sessions, and gain a bit of insight into what to expect personal training with each trainer.
“Braydon’s program focused on giant sets targeting the legs. Similarly after Troy’s session I left hardly being able to walk. This put a smile on my face because I knew I worked hard and made the most of the session.
Braydon taught me a lot about getting the body in the optimal position to gain desired results. This is a concept that I have not heard about before but it made a lot of sense in terms of knowing how to use the muscles to the best of their ability to achieve optimum results. I love how one of Braydon’s main focus areas is about getting the client to ‘work right before working hard’. I can see the importance of this attitude because it will prevent injury, allow higher intensity in the long run and produce far greater results than expected. I was able to see the fruits of Braydon’s approach throughout the session. During the first few sets that I did I felt as though I was working hard. However as Braydon showed me how to switch on all the appropriate muscle groups I found each rep to deepen the burn that I felt in my leg muscles. This was a rewarding experience because I will gain better results by doing strength training properly.
I really appreciated Braydon’s passion for what he does and the time he took to share his knowledge and answer any questions that I had. I thoroughly enjoyed the session and learnt some awesome leg workouts that really get the muscles working and the heart rate up.”
“If I could sum up Alex as a personal trainer and her style in a few words it would be bright, fun and creative. The boxing session with Alex was definitely hard work and a lot of fun.
Alex is very client focused and creative in her programs. From previous experience in her boot camps I doubt that her sessions would get boring or repetitive. She is constantly coming up with new and fun ways to get her clients working hard. I really enjoyed the program that Alex prepared because it allowed me to get my heart rate up as well as focus on some strong and controlled movements. At times the session almost felt like I was hanging out with a friend while being motivated to work hard. This also made the session fly by which is sometimes a good thing when your feeling exhausted. Alex is extremely easy to talk to and is always open to any questions. I love how accommodating Alex is to any personal needs whether it be emotional or physical and how she takes the time to really get to know her clients. For example if a client is having a bad day she will incorporate a workout that she knows the client enjoys so they will be engaged to work hard and let out the stress.
I certainly felt a lot less stressed after doing boxing with Alex.”
