For me Zumba has always been a bit of a no-go zone. I’m not the best dancer and move more like a robot than a sexy Latino. I watch our amazing Zumba instructors teach in awe of how they move. For this reason, I’ve never been interested in teaching or going to Zumba, I know others can do it WAY better…… That was until I saw Strong by Zumba.
Like Zumba, Strong is choreographed to awesome music by a super creative guy, that’s where the similarities stop. Strong is not dancey, it doesn’t involve hip shaking and shimmying, its focus in interval training, high impact moves and challenging combinations. This is my style! As soon as I saw it, I thought ‘we HAVE to get this class at Blackwood Fitness’
Where STRONG By Zumba differs from your average HIIT and strength classes is that it not only uses awesome playlists, but STRONG by Zumba’s music is actually developed to be timed to the each move. The work out has been reversed engineered. This means the class was first created without music, then the music was added to be exactly on beat. Working out to the beat gives you unbelievable energy and will help get the most out of this engaging work out.
