Now for all you dieters out there starving yourself thin: you are doing your body more harm than good. You see, what is happening is that as your body sees the lack of food coming in, it goes into what’s called ‘starvation mode’. It does this straight away.
Starvation mode is not where you want to be if you are looking to shed a few kilos. This mode is what your body does to hold on to fat. It has no idea where the next meal is coming from, or when. This slows your metabolism right down.
The trick now is to reverse the process by eating yourself slim! Having a whey protein shake in between three healthy meals will speed up your metabolism and feed your body a quality amount of protein at the same time. Remember though that three unhealthy meals will still result in weight gain, as well as other issues. Make sure you are eating high metabolising foods such as spinach, broccoli, almonds, coffee (in moderation), and green tea.
