There comes a great deal of responsibility with being a coach. Particularly when I get to work with young girls. Society has a very mislead and skewed vision of what health really is and from a very young age, women are told to look a certain way and to manipulate their bodies to do so. Businesses make millions off of these ideals. It’s any good coach’s job to try to correct this!⠀
What drives me day in, day out, is having the opportunity to go and empower women and to right these wrongs. It’s about teaching them how to become strong, to nourish their bodies, and to love and accept themselves. It’s about long term health, both physical and mental!⠀
It’s NOT about cutting out food groups, excessive exercise, detox teas and spending every waking moment trying to look ‘skinny’! (I literally vomit in my mouth every time that word is said). This issue goes so much deeper than what can be written on an Instagram post. Every day I deal with these misconceptions but every day I work towards educating myself and those around me. I believe it’s every woman’s right to be truly healthy and to be able to love herself!
