Goals are a simple yet effective means of reaching your ideal state of body and mind. After you have thought about your goals, make sure you write them down, and read them every day to keep them in your mind. Success comes from written and reviewed goals, because it helps drive you forwards.
These easy to follow steps will help you maintain your journey towards these goals:
1. Images: Use pictures
Find a image of what it is you are working towards and stick it everywhere you are likely to look. This could be a slim and sexy body, someone running with friends or a guy pumping iron in the gym, use your imagination. This works by setting your brain up to begin to notice things in your everyday world to bring about such a change. You don’t just suddenly buy a car or a house do you? You begin looking and become aware of what’s around you.
Use this method for your fitness goals. Keeping visual goals on a vision board is really helpful.
2. Mind over Matter
Your brain is like a stuck vinyl record: it replays the same thing over and over again. If you want to change your body, you need to change your mind.
To do this simply create a phrase that your repeat in your head over and over. This way your ‘stuck record’ gets changed to something new. It puts new information in your head which makes your brain begin to look for how to achieve the goals. An example of such phrases are:
- I can become slim and healthy (replacing, I’ve always been fat.)
- The more I train, the happier I get (replacing, I’m unhappy being unhealthy.)
- I am fitness focused, and moving towards a healthier life (replacing, I can’t do exercise).
3. Avoid Energy Vampires
An ‘Energy Vampire’ is someone who pulls you down, stops you from achieving and thus pulls down your own personal power. Begin to hang around people who are doing the things you want to. This way the positive vibe rubs off as you all work towards the same goals.
